Fraternity of Christ the Priest

Dear Family of the Cross, last Saturday Sister Manuela Rodriguez, from the Oblates of Jesus the Priest, came to visit our community. As you may know we have created a blog for the Family of the Cross. We discussed what we still need to do in order to offer you a space to share special events and news.

We spent some time talking about the Fraternity of Christ the Priest in the US. The Fraternity of Christ the Priest was also established in the Church through Conchita on January 9th 1912.

The Fraternity of Christ the Priest, offers Bishops, Priests and Deacons a shared journey and a priestly spirituality, which has Jesus Christ, Priest and Victim at the center. Bishops, Priests, and Deacons gather together to receive spiritual support from one another in the spirit of Jesus the Priest.

In our conversation, Sister Manuela Rodriguez, shared with me how the Fraternity of Christ the Priest developed in Chicago. One of the members of this group was recently appointed auxiliary bishop of Chicago. Bishop Alberto Rojas has been a member of the Fraternity of Christ the Priest for over 14 years. We celebrate his episcopal ordination and we support his ministry in the Archdiocese of Chicago. Here is a link with more information about our brother Bishop Alberto Rojas.
